FREEDOM OF SPEECH

Mr. Somizi Mhlongo leaves Church Service at Grace Bible Church

Late January 2017 Mr. Somizi Mhlongo, a born again Christian, a Choreographer, an Idol (South Africa) judge and a radio DJ posted a message on  youtube,  he laments as he felt that a pastor who was preaching during the service was attacking gay people.

Preaching is like a weapon, it can harm the ones we try to rescue (sinners),
but sin kills, eternally,  so preaching against sin is an emergency the church faces.

Mr. Somizi was clearly unhappy and felt directly attacked and had to speak for all who were there who felt the same:

"..  I'm not gonna sit there and listen to somebody offending me."

The church in KZN, in South Africa and in the entire continent is practically having a dilemma because she has two books that she has to take into consideration in her daily life:

Image result for church vs politics1. The Bible, a constitution of the Kingdom of heaven
2. The Constitution of a country (constitution of the world)

The constitution of South Africa protects the rights of LGBT while the Bible is explicitly against the LGBT, even the gospel of grace does not agree with LGBT.

Let us use Mr. Somizi for our conversation for now.
Mr. Somizi is a Christian who loves God, loves people and loves the church. He is a hardworking South African who does not get handouts but has worked very hard for everything he has and has many followers both heterosexual and homosexual.

The brother is in the church and the church uses the Bible which is the constitution of the Kingdom of heaven. The Bible preachers found out that the Bible says there should be no LGBT, that things like that are sin, but the church did also find out that things like fornication and pornography are sin.

Let us put ourselves in the place of Somizi. If I were Somizi, I love God and I know he loves me because the Bible says so and to make it even better I know that God approves of me but I hear a pastor speaks so harshly in the pulpit about the sin I commit and I hear other sinners in the church cheering, the fornicators, the pornography indulging, the liars, the back stabbers all cheering as the pastor speaks against my weakness I would get upset.

Mr. Somozi Mhlongo

Gay people feel gay and they have not choice. If homosexuality is a sin, surely it cannot be equated to fornication, adultery or any other sins since already people who do it are put under a spotlight. If I am gay, what shall I do? Shall I say I do not love God? I know I love him and he loves me!

Let us get real again, there are gay churches where gay can be all gay without being prejudiced but I  choose to come and worship with heterosexuals, to worship God. Am I missing something about God or the church herself is missing something?

If homosexuality is a sin just as fornication, alcoholism, fornication, lies etc are sin then we clearly deal with different people here. Imagine I am an alcoholic and I come to the church only to find out that at church they are making fun of alcoholic faces. Is there no other way of helping me as an alcoholic? Will bashing alcoholics in the pulpit solve what you perceive as my problem?
